Sending a Project Certificate

A completed safety study is only as trustworthy as the software that produced it. Project Verification lets you prove that a project was carried out with a genuine, licensed version of the software — giving clients, operators, and reviewers confidence that the results were not produced with an unlicensed or tampered installation. When a project is verified, an authenticity certificate is issued and delivered by email, viewable on the Insight Numerics web portal. Insight Numerics recommends that clients require this certification on every project to combat pirated use of the software.

 

The feature works the same way in both products: Detect3D verifies .d3d project files, and in:Flux verifies .ifx project files.

 

Where to Find the Option

Save your project first so its name can be recorded on the certificate, then choose Project > Send Certificate. This opens the Send Project Certificate window.

 

How to Request a Certificate

  1. With the finished project open and saved, choose Project > Send Certificate to open the Send Project Certificate window.

  2. Complete the five fields:

    • Project name — filled in automatically from the saved project name, if the project has been saved.

    • Recipient email — the client or reviewer who should receive the certificate.

    • Your name, your email, and your company — identifying you as the sender of the request.

  3. Click Send. A confirmation window titled Send Certificate appears, stating that the certificate request has been submitted for approval and that the recipient will be emailed once it is approved. Click OK.

  4. The request is reviewed and approved by Insight Numerics. Once approved, the recipient receives an email containing a View Certificate link, which opens the full certificate on the Insight Numerics web portal (portal.insightnumerics.com).

 

Because the certificate is issued after an approval step rather than instantly, request it once the project is final — and allow for the approval to be processed before the recipient needs the certificate in hand.

 

What the Certificate Confirms

The certificate confirms that the project file was produced with a licensed version of the software. It is tied to the specific project file that was submitted, so it validates that particular study rather than the installation in general.

 

Recommended Practice

  • Request or issue a certificate for every project that leaves your organization. Making certification a standard deliverable is the most effective way to ensure that all work in your supply chain is produced with licensed software.

  • Verify the project after the analysis is complete and the file is final, so the certificate reflects the delivered study.
